Camping, Glamping and the LOTUSGRILL

I have no personal experience in camping or glamping in Hong Kong, but I can provide some information based on research and analysis. 

Camping in Hong Kong typically involves pitching a tent in designated campgrounds in country parks or on some of the outlying islands. Hong Kong has a total of 41 campgrounds across the territory, offering a variety of amenities, including barbecue pits, fire pits, toilets, showers, and water taps. Campers need to bring their equipment, including tents, sleeping bags, cooking stoves, and food.


Glamping, on the other hand, is a more luxurious and comfortable way of camping that combines the essence of camping with the amenities of a hotel. In Hong Kong, there are several glamping sites that offer a unique experience of sleeping in designer tents with high-quality furnishings, king-size beds, air conditioning, and private bathrooms. Glampers can enjoy a variety of activities, including hiking, kayaking, fishing, or simply lounging and enjoying the view.


The main difference between camping and glamping in Hong Kong is the level of comfort and convenience. Camping provides a more rugged and authentic experience, while glamping offers a more glamorous and indulgent experience. Both options have their advantages and disadvantages, depending on one's personal preferences, budget, and purpose.


Barbequing in Hong Kong, also known as "siu mei" (燒味), is a popular social activity among locals. It is typically enjoyed on weekends or holidays at public parks or designated areas. Here are some tips for barbequing in Hong Kong:


  1. Reserve a BBQ pit: To prevent disappointment, it's recommended to reserve a BBQ pit in advance, as they can be in high demand during peak periods.


  1. Bring your own equipment: Most BBQ pits do not come with grills, so be sure to bring your own equipment, including charcoal, lighter fluid, tongs, and a grill.
